Press Release: Senator Wilton Simpson Endorses Ardian Zika for the Florida House of Representatives, District 37

LAND O' LAKES, FL – Today, the Ardian Zika Campaign for the Florida House of Representatives, District 37 announced the endorsement of Senator Wilton Simpson, Senate Majority Leader and future Senate President.

“Ardian Zika’s story is a modern-day story of the American Dream,” said Senator Simpson. “As a teenager, Ardian left Kosovo, a region of war-torn former Yugoslavia, coming to the United States with nothing but a dream and a willingness to work hard."

“He has since completed an education, spent a decade and a half in the banking industry in a variety of leadership positions and started his own business. He and his wife have five children and are active members of their church. Ardian Zika has the common-sense experience we need to represent us in our state capitol. This election, Ardian Zika has my strong support to serve as our Florida House Representative from District 37.”

Ardian Zika was appointed by Governor Rick Scott to the Florida Council on Homelessness, the Pasco Hernando State College Board of Trustees and the CareerSource Florida Board of Directors. He was selected by the Tampa Bay Business Journal to receive the 40 Under 40 Up and Comer Award.

Ardian immigrated to the United States from Kosovo in 1997, leaving behind civil conflict and political turmoil in the war-torn former Yugoslavia. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Louisiana Tech University and a Master of Business Administration from Saint Leo University. While at Louisiana Tech University, Ardian was elected to the Student Senate, served as Student Government Executive Vice-President, Student Senate President, Student Government Supreme Court Chief Justice and Vice-President of the College Republican Club.

Ardian and his wife, Tasha, have five children and are active members of Idlewild Baptist Church.
